Louis Vuitton has continued to assert it’s dominance as a French Fashion House since it’s launch in 1854. Over the years Louis Vuitton (or LV for short) has continued to surprise the fashion world with new concepts being brought to luggage and clothing alike. With new collections dropping every Summer/Spring and Fall/Winter Season, the creative energy never fades. LV’s owner company is LVMH (Louis Vuitton Moet Hennessy). The company boasts that their mission is to “represent the most refined qualities of Western ‘Art de Vivre’or the Art of Living.
With its high quality materials and simplistic yet unique design, I feel as if this bag shows direct ties to Drake’s “Pound Cake / Paris Morton Music 2”. The track begins with an audio clip from Jimmy Smith’s “Jimmy Smith Rap”, in which he details the lavish experiences of the high life, and being individual (a commonly found message in LV’s designs). This bag also is highlighted by the dark details in the leather which is certainly portrayed in the overlaying dark theme of the lyrics of this song.
Drake has spoken about his feelings on Louis Vuitton and how it connected to his coming of age experience in his song “Star 67”, “Yeah, I remember how I went to Louis V with Haf’, Watched them spread ten thousand dollars on the glass, I never ever thought I’d see that in my life.” While those lyrics come from Drake in 2015, recently the 6 god has taken to Instagram posting pictures in the latest Supreme x Louis Vuitton Collaboration.
